Question:

How do i work my macbook(iphoto)?

i just recently got a macbook and i somewhat get how to use it.

but whenever i save something into iphoto in my photos section under finder i have two of each picture but one of them is the original (obviously) and the copy is about half the size of the original. why is it doing this? and how do i stop it!

  1. iPhoto is a mainly an organization application for photos, but offer non-destructive editing. This is why you see multiple copies of your photos. It will always keep the original so you can revert back to it at anytime. In the modified folder, you will have the edited version of your photo. This one will reflect your cropping, color changing, exposure adjustments and so on. The data file, which is what i assume you mean is the small one is basically a thumbnail file that matches the one in your modified folder. The data file is what I like to upload to websites like facebook because it is small enough in file size and requires no adjustments.
