  1. do jumps.

    like 'squat jumps'

    or '180's'

    i like squat the best.

u "squat" and then explode into a jump, but tuck ur knees while jumping. this helps your approach.

  2. do boards. you first get a wooden board about twenty four inches long wrap a old wash towel around it and tape it in place. then find a smooth surface like a tile hallway. lay down on your stomach with the board in front of you, grab the board ,with it still on the ground, and stand on your toes. begin to push it across the floor. do this for around a minuet and see for yourself how much time you might need to increase so you can get a better workout. ( be sure to keep your wrists firm , do not let them buckle or you will land on your face!)

  3. JUMP ROPE!!!!!!! if you do jumprope for 20 minutes straight... and your jump willl be sooo much inproved... also if there is a bench or something... jump up and down on the bench like jup from the ground onto the bench... that will help too

  4. practice practice practice the approach to a spike, and each time try to life yourself off the ground a little more. hope this helps!

  5. what i do is at my house, we have a lot of beams, and lower-ceilings, and i just take my approach and jump, and touch the beams.

if oyu do this a lot, you will be able to jump much higher than before!

    practice, practice, practice!

    hope this helps!

  6. Find something that you can jump over like a stool and go back and forth jumping over it from side to side, this will help a lot. Also work up to try to touch your ceiling when you can do that then try to touch your fist, elbow, or head! Good Luck

  7. You just have to work at it. My favorite thing to do is jump rope-it's easy and pretty fun, plus it takes up minimal space. I also made a "box". Standing on one side it is about 32". That height makes me really think about using my arms and exploding. Then laying on its other side it is about 12"-14". I just do my approach on the small side 5/6 times then go to the high side for 2/3 times. Then I jump rope.

Also jumping on a trampoline(a full sized one or a little one) is supposed to work.

As with everything make sure you are using the right technique to jump and land so you don't hurt yourself.

    Have fun and good luck!

  8. Some of these are pretty good ... I would emphasize technique over pure strength.  A volleyball jump is 'square' ... both for block and attack.  Learn to jump with both arms fully extended upwards (see attached video of Cuba's Leonel Marshall or look it up) ... watch their arms, especially the left (on a right handed hitter).

For strength, a technique the Russians would teach, is to hop on and off an object ... stairs, whatever ... obviously has to be something *very* stable.  Key is to land on two feet, and STICK IT.  So hop up ... stick it, hop BACK ... stick it.  A few weeks ago a guy I saw was doing it with one of those aerobics 'steps', with about a dozen risers.  It was a little wobbly, but good enough ... just would be careful if I was really tired.

    Be safe!

  9. jump rope and do calf exersizes

  10. because im only 5`8`` and most of my team is like 6`2`` to 6`5`` i go to the side of my house and start jumping(first i set a goal) once i reach it i move it higher and higher. this can also be used with a b-ball net that can get lower or higher. How?? by touching the rim and then once you touch the rim a few times make it higher. you will then notice that you get better and soon will be on the v-ball center or even a b-ball player for your jumping skills.

  11. If your garage is clean and has space for you to jump, take chalk and mark lines for you to jump at.

You can also take a different colored chalk everytime you jump to mark your place.

Otherwise, just find a wall you can jump at, and it takes lots of practice and constantly doing it to get good at it!

    Hope I helped you!

  12. make a jump box that is what i do.
