  1. Depends how many shares are issued.


  2. It's 1% of the issued shares.

    As an example: -

    If it's a quoted company such as BP, who have 18,812,720,000 shares issued, then you would need to own 188,127,200 shares at 569.50 pence each, costing you £1,071,384,404 just for the shares.

  3. Basic arithmetic. A 100  share company you would need 1 share, 1000 share company 10 shares etc.

  4. Multiply the no. of shares issued by 0.01.

  5. The number of shares issued is a matter of public record. You can find out at Companies House, or you could ask the particular company's secretary.
