  1. if he is still standing it's no good

  2. you could go to a clubfitter but you can get a general idea by yourself, and they will probably tell you the same or use the same method at the golf shop. when fitting it is not so much about your height as it is the height of your hands from the floor. so what you do first is stand up straight with your shoes on and measure the distance from the floor to the crease of your wrist for both arms. average these two numbers. Then go online and look up a club fitting chart, you can jsut search it on google. Go to the chart and find the  adjusted club length based on your height and wrist to floor measurement. Then use the standard length chart that is most likely on the same webpage as the one you just looked at and figure out the overall length for each club. so for example if the fitting chart says +.5 inches and the club length chart says standard is 38 inches for a 5 iron, than you would need a 5 iron that is 38.5 inches. There is no such thing as a universal standard for club length so when you go to order your clubs or have them lenghtened or shortened you need to use the values you just figured out, not just +.5 of standard. That will most likely cover at least what length of club you should use, but other things such as lie angle need to be addressed to be properly fitted.  you can go to a fitter and they will have clubs of different lengths and lies and they will determine which one works best for you. But if you are just begginning and dont want to spent a bunch of money you can start with lenghening your clubs and go from there.

  3. all golf sets come in standard sizes.  the size varies from brand to model make.  there is no correct size for a specific heigh it all has to do with your swing.  depending on how much you want to spend and on your skill level and where you want to take your game.  you should try out at least 3 different types of clubs before buying, most shops allow you to e rent clubs or try them in the store.  after you buy them you can have them fitted to you. i dont know how much this costs but i hear it works really well, but only if your under a 10 handicap.  i am 6'1'' and have tried and used many brands, callaway titleeist and taylor made. they all have fit me with no alterations.  yo will be fine with whatever clubs yo ubuy just try them first before you buy to make sure you like them. its a big investment

  4. the 5 or 6 iron is the most normal club for a persons. With the club head flat on the ground, feel the swing. the other clubs in the set should naturally work with that

Drivers can be longer to taste, depending on how big a hitter you are.

  5. Any make of standard golf club will fit your stature. The question is how will you go about seeking what is right for you. The question appears to be that of a new golfer. See your local golf store or country club. Ask for a fitting session. they will determine, with your input, the lie, swing plane, proper length, weight, shaft flex and feel which accomodates your stature.

  6. Go to your local club and talk to the professional.

  7. Clubs come in standard sizes. It's when you are addressing the ball you alter your stance I.e. open your legs to get yourself to the correct height position for you.
