How do i write a biography about myself as an artist?

i was asked to write a bio about myself for a brochure (1-2 paragrphs) about a festival featuring me as one of the artist *yay* and im not sure what to write one or where to start. a sample artical would be nice or just tell me what i need to put in

  1. Writing an artist statement is difficult because it requires you to really evaluate why you make art and what you are trying to say through your art.  Try the following link.  Also, try searching "artist statement" and read examples of what other people have done.

I'm not sure what "yay" alludes to, but I would suggest that you include one or two previous exhibits you've had, what type of training you had, your favorite medium and if you have a favorite artist you like to emulate or whose work inspires you. Or where you find your inspiration. Try writing several paragraphs about your life, background, training, etc. then distill out the 1-2 paragraphs you need. Hold on to both the longer version and the short one. This way you have a starting point if you ever need to do it again.
