How do iget pop ups too let me know i have a message?

when i'm on myspace and i go to another web site how do i get the pop up at the bottom of the page saying new message?

k the pop ups that say u have one message waiting? Spam my good friend spam. Don't click it cuz ull get a virus or the'll send u so many emails u get sick and tired of it
