  1. insects are part of the ecosystem, so yes, they benefit life on the planet in general.  except for those damned mosquitoes i hate those bast@rds.

  2. AS HAS BEEN MENTIONED BY EATING OTHER INSECTS AND BY POLLINATING PLANTS.

  3. There are many insects that are beneficial to agriculture, but many that are harmful as well. The beneficial ones are the ones like honeybees, other types of bees, some beetles and wasps that pollinate many crops that could not reproduce without them. Also the insects that feed on or destroy harmful insects, such as lady bugs, some wasps, and spiders are very beneficial.

  4. As said before lady beetles are insect feeders (predatory) they eat aphids and many other insects. These insects are called natural insects enemies and farmers friends. The researchers used them as a biological control agent instead of pesticides which are the knew goal for protecting many agricultural crops.

  5. The economic importance of insect include both beneficial and detrimental

    Beneficial

    1. They help in pollination without which some crops will not grow

    2. Soil insects help in decomposition of organic matter thereby increasing the soil fertility

    3. They aerate the soil providing a good atmosphere for plant root development

    4. Some insects are used for biological control of other pests by acting as predators

    5. Some insects produces edible material like honey

    Detrimental effects

    1. They destroy crops in the farm leading to loss in yield

    2. They increase the cost of agricultural production

    3. Some insects are storage pests and attack stored produced thereby reducing the quality of the crop

    4. Some insects are vectors while some are pathogens causing or transmitting diseases

  6. Some insects help pollenate crops like corn and squash by going from plant to plant, carrying traces of pollen on their bodies and legs. Other insects like wasps and beetles prey on harmful insects like weevles and aphids that destroy crops.

  7. many plants need insect pollination to reproduce. Although we could possibly live without bees our diet would be very limited considering only a few plants are self polinators like corn. But yeah lady bugs and bees are two great examples

  8. Well, ladybugs eat aphids, which are harmful to crops because they eat them. That's just one example.

  9. 1. pollination

    2. eating/killing other harmful insects

    3. act  food for birds that would have otherwise eaten away grain crop.

    4. during decay of insects in soil, microbes capable of digesting their wall [chitin] are enriched. These microbes can protect plant roots from nematodes and fungi.

    5. insects make degradation of some plant parts [say dead wood & termite] easy. This releases the nutrients trappe din these plant parts for growth of new plants.

  10. They benefit from Agriculture by eating the produce

  11. Without bees, we would have virtually no plant life at all.
