Question:

How do it fix my toilet so I don't have to hold the lever down the whole time during the flushing cycle

  1. Sounds like you need to shorten the chain on the handle inside the tank.  Then you won't have to hold the lever.  When you push the lever the chain needs to be short enough to allow the plunger to rise high enough in the water to allow the water to leave the tank.  Once the water level is low enough the plunger will drop again and the tank will fill up.  Hope this helps.


  2. Pull the lid off the top of the toilet (not the bowl the actual lid above that), there should be a small arm connected to the lever, connected to the other side of this arm is a chain, move the chain up 2-3 links (so it's shorter) and try that.

  3. flapper has an air pocket underneath to make it float till tank drains into bowl...replace flapper...

  4. Replace the flapper on the flush valve!

  5. Change the flopper, and adjust the length of ur chain or plastic strap.
