  1. Go to the store and buy ant baits, and leave them undisturbed for a couple of days...the ants will go in them then take the poison out to their colony and hopefully spread it, and kill them all

  2. I used http://www.PestProJoe.com for their cy-kick and it rocked!  I would try their recommended solution.

  3. put listerine in a spray bottle and spray it around what ever you dont want ants to be near

  4. buy some ant killer at home depot or lowes

  5. bug reppelant....Also, Since I have an interest in fungi, I have come across one that is quite interesting, I think Paul staments, A mycologist, has created a cultre that helps stop ants...there is a video, The video has it's name  http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=CCOQ0VU24x...  Good luck finding it though.

  6. Use Orthos Max Attack Granules. You can buy this or something at Home Depot or Lowe's. These granules are like seed and all you do is sprinkle some on the ant mound. Then add water, the water will melt the granules into the insectiside and seep into the whole ant mound killing the whole colony.

  7. Get a lawn spray that says it kills red and carpeter ants. THey sell them at lowes and home depot.

  8. If you can find their nests, flood them with an appropriate labeled insecticide. Make sure the label allows for flooding of mounds.

Be aware, carpenter ants can be tough, as for the red ants, I have no idea what species they are.

Carpenter ants may bud, or split into several smaller colonies, if you don't kill them on the first shot. Also, if they've established a satellite colony in your home, you'll cut them off from the main colony and force the satellite colony to become a main colony.

The best way to spot carpenter ant nests is to go out at about midnight and follow their trails.  They're more active at night. If they're active during the day, they're probably moving a nest or budding.

  9. i would go to a local hardware store and ask for help there, they will point out fertilizers and sprays you can put on your lawn to keep them away.

also, indoors they have sprays and ant trappers.

    =] goodluck.

  10. All you have to do is put down sheets on Bounce fabric softner. I know it sounds odd, but ants hate Bounce! This is a humane way to get rid of your problem.

  11. Spray em

  12. WD 40 + lighter = flame thrower

    weeeee...

  13. Any ant killer. Or the ORKIN man can come.

  14. Use advance select ant bait for the red ants.  Don't over kill the bait, just sprinkle around the mounds.  Using too much may make the ants suspicious and not take it.

Use carpenter ant gel for the carpenter ants.  The advance select is also labeled for carpenter ants, but I have found the gel to be more effective.

Both of these solutions will kill off the colony.  Most sprays, or other home remedies will not kill the entire colony.... especially not the flame throwing WD-40....  although that is entertaining.
