Taking laxatives to lose weight is a bad idea, no better than an eating disorder. A combination of a healthy diet, drinking an adequate amount of water, getting ample rest and exercising is the best way to lose weight & keep it off.

They don't. Laxatives aid you in voiding your bowels if you are constipated. They do nothing to help you lose weight. Laxative abuse can, however, lead to the development of an eating disorder.
