How do lottery subscriptions work?

I havent played the lottery before until like once recently and I found out about lottery subscriptions, where you can fill out a form to automatically play the lottery for a certain number weeks. But I'm a bit confused about how it works.

I applied online and I did quick pick. I would understand if someone had a set of numbers they always play, so they would know right away what prizes they got, but not for someone with quick pick. What I want to know is how you know you won or if you did quick pick do you even know what numbers you got. Does it send you an email each time before the lottery and then another email if you win?? What about people that applied by form, do they get a letter saying they win?

Basically I want to know, do you get updated notification each drawing or do you sit around and not know about anything unless you win?

  1. its better if you pick your own numbers.how it works is when you win the lottery will send you a chack for the amount you win.

the reason many chose their own numbers is because they will know right away if they should be expecting a check.

if you signe up by email and they should email you saying you won.
