How do managerial interiews go?

I currently work for a big Financial Institution and have been there for 4 years. And 6 months ago I was promoted to a manager with 5 people reporting to me.

I've now decided to leave my company for another big competitor at the same level and they want to meet me for an interview.

Since I've never been to a managerial interview I don't know what to expect. My agent says they only want an informal chat. I guess deep down I'm not too confident since I'm new to this.

Has anyone been through these types of 'informal chats' before? How do you excel in those? How best can I sell myself?

Informal chats are never informal.  Just treat it like a regular interview.  If you've been managing for 5 months and you think you can do the job then there's nothing to worry about.

Just be prepaired for anything, such as knowing backround info on the company and finding out some of the interests of the company or even the interviewer. Useless info is not really useless. You can also brush up on some or your sales techniques, like ways to break the ice, and ways to put yourself on his level during the interview.  Lighten up it is just an informal chat, so you will find out what to expect during the interview. Also be aware that the competition may just want to get info out of you and may never really want to hire you, so if you want to worry, then worry about that. Good luck form KC

When you go there try to be relax and trust yourself. Don't forgot you need to get nice sleep and make your feel comfortable. Also you need to wear nice comfortable suit and necktie makes your look smart and profession-all. When you get the job don't forgot to thanks to me loll ;-) Good Luck
