  1. Because whether or not something floats depends on it's density, not size. If something is less dense than the water it's on, it floats, more dense, it sinks. and Yes, it is possible for a cruise ship to sink, just like any other ship.

  2. The same way that other boats stay afloat - and yes of course the could sink x

  3. its called displacement, read about it.

  4. They can sink, look at the Titanic.

  5. water displacement     amazing

  6. its all to do with air pressure which acts like a float! if u get a chicken satay stick eat 2 chicken bits leaves ya wiv 2 spread them apart,(fink of them as 2 giant floats)  the air between the 2 of them will act as a float which stops it sinking. They can definatley sink! look at the titanic!

  7. titanic

  8. Think of it like.... a  bowl in a sink of washing up water, you have to push quite hard to make it go down and fill with water, its the same principle with ships, but on a much larger scale. The weight of the luggage and people on board a ship just isnt enough to sink it compared to the weight of the ship and the density of the sea. Water is very very heavy, you can feel it when you carry a bucket full of water, and there is unimaginiable gallons of it in the sea, a cruise ship is nothing compared to the weight of it, that's why is floats

  9. Its about air pressure and momentum, as well as weight dispersal.

Very very unlikely they will sink but that is what they said about Titanic
