  1. I agree with tru24, and going in depth on this a little; We learn to take punches and kicks.

We roll with punches and kicks more so, than a boxer does. We learn how to exhale when getting hit in the body, rolling your head to soften up a punch or kick; , body shift in others and just toughening up from repeatedly doing the same techniques over and over again to near perfection.. We always strive to perfect our techniques. If you take Karate you will never walk the same again or be the same person.

We get in top shape as far as body conditioning goes. Speed and technique is everything to us. It's a trip to fight. It's that moment of greatness we feel.

After you have fought enough times, your body and mind become as one, Grasshopper.

  2. It's not as confusing as you may think.  The problem is these punches that you are talking about wouldn't do anything more than hurt a little and cut most people who aren't pu$$ies.  If you ask anyone who has ever fought, then watched their own fights on video (I have), they will tell you that the punches and kicks didn't hurt near as bad as they look.

People underestimate what it really takes to knock someone out.  Every once in a while when you punch someone, you'll get fortunate and knock them out, but that depends on punch/kick placement.  Usually you aim for the jaw muscle or the temple to increase your chances of a knockout.  You will almost never get knocked out from a punch to the eye, nose, or mouth, which all three produce tons of blood, which makes these punches and cuts look more serious than they are.  If you watch MMA enough, and see tons of blood, most of the blood will come from theese three places.

Also, if you know anything about scar tissue (on the bony part of the eye and the nose), you know that this scar tissue bleeds more than non-scar tissue.

These kicks and punches you talk about normally WILL NOT knock out people not in MMA.  You underestimate yourself or your opponent if you continue to think so.

  3. Watch this test on a MMA kick!

They train so much that there bones get stronger and nerves get weaken so they wont feel the pain.
