how old were you when you decided to dress differently? I am almost 29 and I have a 4yr old and 2yr old and I still shop in the Juniors section...I told my husband I would stop once I hit 30, not that he is complaining...but I wasn't sure how I should dress...I don't dress sluty in little shirts or shorts but I have 2 pairs of ripped jeans, tank tops, t-shirts...IDK, my step-mom says I look fine but I know that my MIL HATES how I dress...and I used to have really long hair and I went one day and chopped it all off...now I have the Victoria Beckem(sp) cut.

  1. I shop in the Juniors section, too. It fits me better. I also love Victoria's Secret PINK.  People always think I'm a babysitter or my kids big sister, so sometimes I try to dress a little older- but still I look very young (I'm not bragging, I actually hate how young I look). I haven't hit 30 yet but I don't see any reason to change the way I dress. It's definitely not provocative. LOL

My MIL buys me granny clothes and I just say thanks and throw em in the closet. Never can get enough sleepwear. he he

  2. Haha, I'd haffta agree with you.  I still shop in the juniors section, I love wearing cute clothes!  I wouldn't be caught at all outside in my pj's though or after 8 a.m. in my pj's for that matter - lol!  Cute question!

  3. I'm only 22 and my daughter is 3 I still dress my age not all S****y and like short shorts and stuff because I have never been into that. but I do dress nicely and in style my husband loves how I dress and so do I when I'm older I will change the way I dress. I love summer dresses and sandals and high heels but I keep and classy. my MIL hates the way I dress too but she lives in a different state so I don't care.

  4. It is all about how you feel. I am 44 I have a 22, 20, 15, year old and I

am still engergic , I keep up with the today fashion. So really it is all about how you feel . If you feel like a grandma it will show in what you wear. So there's no time clock its all about you.

  5. I dress pretty much the same as I always have, but then I've always had my own sense of style and my own standards.  I like to look feminine, I like fashion and love clothing. I like skirts that have a feminine cut to them (sort of loose and flowy) and I like fitted tops. But  I don't wear tank tops or anything sleeveless, although that has nothing to do with being a mother, but rather with the standards of modesty I live by. I will say that motherhood has given those standards of modesty a deeper meaning- I don't want my children's friends- especially my son's- looking at my breast when they are in naturally curious age; we already had a 'drama and trauma' when my daughter was outraged and embarrassed in first grade, because some of the little boys in her class had a crush on her mother. I'd say ditch the holey jeans and get some that are slim and well cut and a flattering fit, and perhaps steer away from low cut tops at the least. Just out of respect for your kids.

I often buy skirts and plain tee-shirts, polo shirts etc. in jr's sizes, but that's because they fit me best. But only 'basic' items- other things in the jr. sections of Bloomingdales Macy's etc., because they are 'disposable', tend to look cheap on grown women.   I'm very particular about fabrics, how they feel and look, and the better quality fabrics are simply not used to make Jr.s clothes most of the time.

  6. My mom is 40 and she wears really stylish clothes from abercrombie and american eagle and she loves coach purses and big sunglasses, but she is not the gross S****y mom that is wearing low cut tops and mini skirts, she usually wears jeans or capris and a tshirt or tank top and she looks great. She def. pulls it off, and her oldest is 21. I don't think you should ever have to change what you wear as long as you like it. Stylish moms are adorable as long as they are stylish and not like the mom from mean girls. haha. It's not a bad thing to take care of your self and dress the part when you know you look good. Go for it!

  7. i am 31. i still shop in the junior section, i still wear ripped jeans, and i still wear the styles that are out that i can afford. i dress appropriately for the occasion. what i mean is , i will not show up to parent/teacher confrences in what i would normally wear to a nightclub. (sparkly halter, high heels etc.) it think it is more about how you carry yourself, not what you put on.. i also don't wear innapropriate clothing at all because i have a 12 year old daughter that i want to have respect for herself as she grows. so, no mini-skirts, no low,low necklines, no thongs hanging -out (thats gross anyway) and no buttcheeks showing. but as far as the latest styles, and trends, as long as you aren't hanging out between the seams or any of the above, you would look to me like a mother who still has it together. it is important to maintain your self-image when you have kids. it helps when everything else isn't going well!! i also do it for my hubby!!!

that "mom jean" video that cj sent in was a riot!!!! lol

  8. I'm going to dress in what I feel comfortable in regardless of my age, since I was 13 I have been shopping at Pacific Sun-wear.. I love the clothes and they look good on me, I shop in the Juniors section because 1: Women's don't fit me right 2: Most of them are old granny clothes I figure just because I have kids doesn't mean I have to dress like an old uptight lady..Until my b***s are hanging to my knees and I can make shapes out of my skin, I will wear my cute juniors clothes regardless of what people think. Age is a number.. looking good in juniors clothes at "almost" 29 is a gift.. You go hot momma bowmchickawowow people are just so opinionated!

Hey I wore a 2 piece bikini through out my entire pregnancy.. not one of those itchy butt restrictors *Freedom*

  9. I dress comfy. Mostly jeans and capri pants with t-shirts and tank tops. I have a few button down sleeveless tops, but I don't wear them often.  I am 33 and people always think that my youngest child is my first child. the truth is that I have a 12.5 year old, an 8.5, and an almost 3 year old

  10. At least you're not wearing mom jeans
