WHen they get the money order, they cash it and when it clears they ship your item.

a money order is basically the same as a check, but more or less guaranteed because it is purchased with cash. While you can write a check with no money in your account, you cannot purchase a money order with no cash. Online payments would require a credit or debit card, sometimes a checking account will work.
