  1. Darwin never solved a problem he had in his theory. If natural choice encourage certain traits, how does diversity sustain? Every population and species maintain diversity, in spite of including many forms that are not advantageous at that niche/environment.

    Mutation and sexual reproduction are responsible to the diversification of the genetic makeup. Mutation introduce new sequences, new/different proteins, and maybe even new species. Sexual reproduction (as opposed to a-sexual reproduction where the parent and the child have the same genome) shuffles the genes, creating diversity.

    In evolution, when stressful settings occur, if all of the creatures had the same exact genes, they could all be erased all together (such as virus or a disease). Having different advantageous and disadvantageous allow individuals to be successful in different environments and increase their chances of adapting to ever changing environmental stress
