How do non-Wings and non-Pens fans feel about this final?

I'm just curious about your interest and enthusiasm level. I see it as a matchup of the tried-and-true Wings against the up-and-coming Pens, and I think the contrast is interesting.

As a side note, what do you think will happen with the Pens and their RFAs/UFAs over the next couple of years? Do you see any of their nucleus leaving?

I'm non-plussed, non-interested, and non-particular about who wins. But I say it's Detroit in 5 or 6 games.

Even though I'd love to see my team fighting for the Stanley Cup (Flyers) these two teams worked really hard.  I just hope that Detroit wins.

I'm sure in Canada, interest will be (as always) rabid.  I'm a Pens season-ticket holder, so I don't really qualify for your question, but I think for real hockey fans, you couldn't get a much better match-up.

As for the FAs, I think Hossa and Orpik are gone.  They will make a strong pitch to keep Malone.  The rest of the UFAs (with the possible exception of Conklin) are replaceable parts (including Ruutu).  They will try to hoard money to be able to sign Fleury, Staal and Malkin long term.

As a Flyers fan I'm disappointed that we could look so good against Montreal and yet roll over and die against the Pens.  Obviously there would have been greater interest if they had won.

It's a David and Goliath kind of match up.  The Wings should win it however I'll be rooting for the Pens.

I am very excited! I also think the matchup is great for the NHL. I would love to see the series go all the way to game 7! Again, I am very excited and can't wait until tomorrow!

I'd much prefer the Sharks to be in the Finals, but my interest level is still pretty high for this matchup.

Like i replied in another question, there's plenty of intrigue, plenty of storylines, and plenty of superstars. Experience vs Youth, Lidstrom/Rafalski vs Crosby/Malkin, will DET win their 11th Cup? Will Osgood get another Cup as a starter to possibly nudge him in the HOF? Is Crosby ready for the grandest stage of them all? I'm pretty stoked and can't wait for them to drop the puck tomorrow. Hopefully the JOE will be a full house cuz there's nothing like a packed arena in a playoff hockey game!

Tough situation with the RFAs/UFAs, but i guess the main concern is winning the cup first.

I'm a Devils fan and can't say I particularly like either team. But I sure respect them both. It is going to be a h**l of a series. A Sober-knocker for the record books no doubt.

I feel it is going 7 games and going to be tight till the end.

As far as the Free agents some may leave but others will come the time has it's core but some players are interchangeable.

I live in Nashville and support our Preds.  This is the perfect final for the NHL from a business standpoint.  You have the face of the league in Sidney Crosby and other young rising stars like Malkin and Fleury taking on the Red Wings who have a been great recently and have a rich history.  The series is going to be a tight one, and I'm sure the TV ratings will be higher than they have been in a long time.  Gotta love the NHL making a comeback!

im a hockey fan yes but as far is finals go this is one of the worst becuase it is my teams rivals and i just can stand either of them winning the cup.  They'll sign everybody back thats important cause they are obviuosly having success

im a ranger guy but i wont complain about the teams there.  both have had a great playoff run with good reg season records before.  some top level offensive guys are here, and thats what bettman wants.  i still dont think the penguins have played on an even level officiating wise, but hopefully the final will be called evenly.  id rather see the wings win, but my dad has always been a big redwings guy.  

honestly, i probably wont even watch all the games, and i dont care that much who wins.  im sure it will be a great series though.

This is one of the best finals in recent history. The Red Wings were the best team from the regular season and have been incredible throughout the whole course of the season. The Penguins are a team with some exciting young talent, but they lack Detroit's experience. It is traditional greats against the rising young guns of the Penguins. It is going to be a great, fast paced series. It is going to be a thrill to see who comes away with it.
