  1. Like others stated, they have to get endorsement deals. There are a lot of Olympians who work at Lowes for example as they brag to have on staff the most. They struggle to make ends meet.

  2. the best like Phelps, Coughlin, and Ian Thorpe get sponsors, endorsments, and some have a job, just like you and me

phelps has been sponsored by speedo, omega, powerbar, etc

  3. swimming

  4. That ones that win medals wont have any problems- media/sporting endorsements all the way.

  5. goverment i think

  6. I think the ones with the medals get paid are u watching the men gymnastics right now like me

  7. They get their money from sponsorships and endorsements.

Michael Phelps for example has endorsements with Speedo, Visa, Omega and PowerBar to name a few.

  8. they get featured. haven't you seen the gymnastic girls on ceral boxes?

and they get money for acting for companies. i.e. At&t

  9. sponsorships for people like phelps and ian thorpe. the others probably dont make much

  10. Already been said, but endorsements, sponsorships.  I'm sure Phelps made enough just from the AT&T commercial that only has his pic in it.  He didn't even have to be there.

  11. ENDORSMENT DEALS!!!!! like those stupid-*** mcdonalds comercials with the "perfect" chicken sandwich haha

  12. gold medels

  13. same way everyone else does....work, some country's give them money if they win a medal but most of it is hard training and working at a normal job.

  14. Endorsements; companies pay them to use their likeness in advertisements. Michael Phelps, for example, has done endorsements for Visa, Speedo and Wheaties, among others.

These types of deals make athletes a lot of money.
