  1. It can be either thing. It's whatever you want to make it. If you want to put restrictions on who can join, that's up to you.  That's called making it a "closed" group.

The group address is so that instead of the person having to go to the group page to post a message, they can post it from their Yahoo! Mail. Actually, there a few addresses for the group and they all do different things. Read about it here:

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

Anyway, you can read all about how to set up a group here:

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

Also, if you need additional help, you can read information and post messages at Moderator Central:

    http://new.groups.yahoo.com/moderatorcen...

NOTE: You will not be able to post Yahoo! Groups in the Groups module on your 360 space. That feature has been busted for months. The best you can do is put your group's web page address in your blog and/or blog roll. See http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... for further details.

FYI: Y!360 is transitioning into a different social networking platform in early 2008. There has not been a more specific date announced on the blog yet, so it could happen any time between January and end of March 2008. Yahoo is trying to centralize its profiling services - Y!Mash, Y!360, and the regular Members profile - into one. It likely will not be called 360 anymore, so yes, it's closing in a sense. See http://blog.360.yahoo.com/product_360 for more details. The 360 team blog is also accessible via the "Yahoo! 360 News" link in the upper right corner of your 360 space.

However, they are no longer fixing bugs related to Y!360, so there's no point in trying to contact them about those.

  2. Hi there ND.

Well Yahoo groups can be fun , but is always a good idea to maintain a level  of responsibility.

The reason for the E-mail address is so the members can communicate with each other , and also the group owner or moderator can pass along new things happening in the group updates to the group etc.

If yahoo sends e-mail, rarely so, yahoo will mail the owner of the group directly to the address the owner has listed when the group was open.

Go out there and have fun & good luck to you.
