How do owls turn their heads all 180 degrees?

You do realize that 180 degrees only means halfway around? I think you mean 360 degrees -- and they actually don't go ALL the way around. They can go very far one way and very far the OTHER, but not a true 360 circle.

MOST birds, especially long-necked birds, can turn their heads almost completely backward, but the owl looks different when they do it because it has no discernable neck.

they have more bones in their necks then we do so that's how they turn their heads so far
