How do people Without Electricity Cook Their Food?

  1. Well I do have electricity but it only takes me a few min to walk to my shed, grab either my charcoal or propane, prepare my barbecue and start cooking hamburgers or hot dogs. Or if I was really ambitious I'd start a bonfire and cook the food over it.


  2. Solar power is a very good alternative.  You can cook anything you want, and it is there for the taking.  No running around.  You do need a solar cooker though.

    Gas, Peat, Charcoal, Wood, Coal, Oil, Biomass, Solar

    The limitations on cooking would be related to the temperature and duration of heat. For example something that only gives out a low heat can't be used for frying.

    The lower the energy per kilo of fuel, potentially the longer the time spend collecting.
