How do people benefit from this style of government?

how do people benefit from monarchy? (under, of course, a good king/queen) ? please be serious. thx.

  1. Right now, in this age, having a king or queen is pretty much like having a president or Prime Minister. Citizens don't really benefit any more or less than if they had one of these other figureheads...in most countries


  2. In modern society the pros are really a tourism and historical value, it doesn't cause unemployment, in fact people (lots of people) can apply to work for the queen and other members of the royal family to become assistants of theirs.

    The cons: In modern society an anarchy sentiment has grown in most of the Westernized world, so they don't get the respect they do.

    Also I don't consider a class system a bad thing (except in India where moving up the ladder is discouraged) because it's good to have something to strive for and knowing that in some cases if you don't work hard enough, you can fall below the ground.

  3. The best part about having a good king or queen is for them to be a social leader.  Separating out the ceremonial duties (entertaining heads of state, dedicating parks, and presenting awards) lets the political leaders concentrate on government and not have to do all of the social duties that come with running a country by themselves.
