Anytime there's an article about the effects of global warming, it uses qualifiers throughout.  "Could", "possibly", "probably", "believe", "may", "think", ad nausium.....

No one knows if it will be warmer or colder 5 years from now.  Any "prediction" is just a guess and has no better probably of coming true than a toss of a coin.

Because it is a political myth.  The earth goes through periods of heating and cooling naturally.  Look up global cooling.  It was the big scare in the 70's like global warming is today.

Very easy, one needs merely state that it is a hoax and walk away. It is like those who deny the existence of God feel they have no need to prove the point.

But this case may be a bit different, There are really a lot of possible even if unlikely alternate explanations for observations made, and some people do not really know who to believe in stating observations.

Most people do not have the scientific background to evaluate the evidence for themselves and thus must depend on the scientists at the holy alter.

Others would never pay attention to any scientist as long as there is another with an opinion that can be construed as conflicting. This is like rejecting all religion if religion can not all agree.

Most people do not go to the original reports of scientists but only take what has been summarized for them by a political person. This is the case for both sides, and each side has its true believers who can only accept what their own high priests of politics tell them.

I believe in global warming, just like I believe in global cooling. It's all a cycle. Mars polar ice caps are melting at the same rate as earths are. Do you think that the sun just MIGHT have something to do with it? Don't believe what the mainstream media and Al Gore tell you!

When the data used to develop the so-called 'science' of AGW is flawed, it then becomes extremely easy to thumb one's nose at the 'cause'.

If or when NOAA ever gets around to fixing their ground monitoring problem, then.....and only then.....will I give the issue a second thought.

How can some one so easily subsribe to global warming? Becase Big g*y Al said so?  You can not say global warming is real based on 97 degrees in July or 50 degrees in January.  Not every day is the same temperature as the year before and before and before and before. Ever notice the RECORD highes and lows when watching the weather forecast? That gives a pretty good range of temps for any given day.

This is a hoax to make government bigger so they can tax us and our manufacturing base that is all. They do not care about Polar Bears only Power and you people are ready to give them the power.

It would be nice if they used facts instead of assumptions though and it would be nice if ONE thing they predicted came true other than hot days in Summer. Remember the Hurricane forcasts for the last two years? I do and it did not happen. Wrong yet again.

France does exists because it is on a map you can visit it and people speak French. Where can you prove GW happens? Melting ice in summer? DUHHHHHHHHH Hot days in Summer? DUhhhhhhhhh CO2 in the air? Trees need CO2 for food it is not a pollutant.

Because winter always comes to where I live.  4 of the past 5 winters here have been below 'normal'.

Because articles like this say "could be" wiped out.  'IF' predictions become true.

Remember the Global Cooling theory of the 70's 80's...?

How can you say that GW or AGW exists when the amount of data (150 years at best) is so small compared to the entire life of the planet...?

I read a similar article about 5 months ago.  At least that article acknowledged that other species of penguins were benefiting while the King was declining.  That is the way of life.  When environments change (and they generally constantly change), some species are favored.  You may not like it, but that is how it is, always has been, and always will be.
