  1. Do NOT use a Q Tip or any home remedies. VERY bad idea and not safe.

Your brother needs to go back to the doctor and likely have his ears drained (or get different drops).

  2. Q-TIPS!!!!!!!!!

  3. The absolute fastest way to clear the wax out of your ear is to pour less than a cap full of hydrogen peroxide in to your ear. Let it sit in it for about a minute. Much of the wax will bubble out, as well as other will be loosened to be further cleaned out by a cue-tip.

  4. When I was in med school I was told to never stick anything in your ear that is bigger than your elbow ;)

I believe that is because everytime you stick something in your ear in an attempt to rid it of excess wax you're actually just packing the wax in deeper and tighter.

My best advice would be to tell your brother to see an ENT - Ear, Nose & Throat specialist and ask them to drain his ears because the eardrops didn't work. also ask them if there is a problem with the eustachian tube connecting your ear to your throat because sometimes that can get clogged and make your ears feel yucky.

you may also want to ask about Labyrinthitis - basically it causes ear symptoms such as clogged ears, dizziness/vertigo, due to particles of calcified earwax rattling around and messing with the part of your ear that determines balance (vestibular system).

those things are nothing to worry about really and would resolve on their own but having the wax drained will amaze you (or gross you out) when you see just how much wax was clogged up in there.

  5. lie down at the side and use a candle and stick it into the ear. but i dont think its supposed to be done at home
