  1. A special attachment is used to "roll" the grass in the direction the mower is traveling. If your lawn is green and plush, you can get somewhat of the same effect when you mow. My lawn was like that for two tears and I got the effect to certain a extent. It looks good, but not nearly like the ball fields.

  2. they mow out patterns, usually it only works on huge lawns, and tall grass, you see it allot in cornfields too. here are some pics for you:

    striped:

    or all of them!

    hope that helps :)

  3. Just push the mower in the direction of the pattern you want. you can also adjust the hight up and down for each pass,

  4. On any sports turf, they get the stripes by having a roller on the back of the lawn mower.  This will lay the grass in opposite directions and that's how you get the color difference.  You don't need to get one of these mowers for the same effect.  If you mow back and forth it will do the same thing, but just not to the degree as on golf courses, baseball fields, etc.

  5. It's just the way you run the mower........I try to change directions because they say it's good for the grass to cut the top of it and different angles..........who knows??? It appears to work at times.........good luck...........watch the circle patterns........ya get dizzy and fall after while

  6. just mow your lawn back and forth and the little lighter and darker stripes will show up nicely.

  7. you will need a mower with a roller at the rear instead of wheels,of course only petrol mowers can do this,or in the winter get up early when dew is on the ground and brush one way then the other.
