How do people get those number plates like this: x*x 1234?

Regular number plates are like these:

letter letter number number letter letter letter (xx52xxx)

letter number number number letter letter letter (x000xxx)

Recently I've seen cars with number plates like this:

x*x 1234

how do you get one like that?

It could be that they are moving the fourth digit

closer to the other three to give it a personalised

look..which is illegal, but who cares about that type

of thing nowadays

they are irish number plates you can find them on cherished numbers on the computer

where you live may have something do do with it, cause here in virginia you can only get x*x-1234 unless you get a personalized license plate

Nope - ALL wrong I'm afraid, they are NORTHERN Ireland number plates :)

Sounds like you're talking about Northern Ireland plates, which are often sold in the UK as cheapo personal plates. Beware if buying a car with those plates that hasn't come directly from NI though, a lot of dodgy dealers will put a £99 NI plate on a car when they want to make it harder for you to check the identity. ie the car could be stolen or badly accident damaged.
