  1. I've read what somebody has said about black people at universities....well,I'm Spanish and I'm studying at university. You won't have any problem here...In my class there're people from almost all nationalities and I think it's better for all of us than if we all were Spanish.

It's true that you will find more black people in big cities like Madrid or Barcelona than in a small village, but that makes sense.

Have a great time here in Spain!

  2. Why do you want to take profit from Europe ?

Why don't you stay in Africa?..

  3. I'm not going to political correct in this question so you won't be surprised when you get to Spain... first you will stand out, which is not a bad thing but its just that there aren't many blacks in Spain.... when i studied in Spain there wasn't one in the whole university,, but remember as someone said before,, tall blonde blue eyed women also stand out..... now whether or not people are racist depends largely on the generation the person belongs to,, older people are usually racist especially senior citizens but younger people,, 15-30 year olds really aren't.... another HUGE factor is where you are from, as an American, french or someone of the UK you won't have problems but if you;re from Africa you may due to the resent may people have towards the illegal immigrants  that are flooding cueta melia and the islands... there may be parts of this answer you don't like but i just wanted to be honest...... remember that in spain, just like in the united states, business  give a lot of importance on how you dress, but thats the same no matter what skin color

  4. That word ...Blacks ....always makes me shiver, I dont know why.  We are sooooo not racist in spain, again at least everyone I know isnt.

Good luck with your spanish course, shop around for them, there are loads, I went on one called Cento Idiomar in La Herradurra, I would probably go to Seville next time!! Good Luck.

  5. In Spain we are not racist against blacks, at least the people I know.  Now a days, people of many nationalities live in Spain; Blacks, South Americans...You shouldn't worry about it, you'll be fine and you will see that people are very friendly.  I would even say that people are friendlier here than people in the US are to people from other countries.

  6. A agree that most people in Spain are not racist, or don't want to be. But you will stand out. (just as blond women get a lot of attention). People are more out there about race issues -- they don't have the PC dialogue that we have in the US and may not be as cautious and sensitive as we are here. I'm sure you will encounter some jerks.

I just saw a great movie about race issues in Spain (on Spanish TV when I visited Madrid last week). El Traje, "The Suit" is more about immigration and how getting a suit helps change the way an African immigrant is treated. I'd recommend it if you are planning a visit.

  7. It depends, spanish women love blacks!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. There are a wide range of nationalities in Spain do not think it will be a problem.

  9. I have to say that this probably depends on your nationality more than the color of your skin. Coming from France or the United States menas something different than coming from Ivory Coast, for example.

Moreover, I would add that Spanish companies do not necessarily abide by the same banner of diversity found in the United States. In other words, since there is no overarching desire to promote diversity and seek out qualified minority employees, the road you travel will depend upon your qualifications and, increasingly, your established network of professional contacts. More or less, the way it should be.
