  1. Seriously, Australia is an industrial country just as advanced as the US. Their range of work ranges from manufacturing to agricultural. It is a very advanced civilization equal to the US or Europe.  It is not in any way what anyone would consider a third world country

  3. In the city its more customer services industries, i.e retail, hospitality, tourism, business.

    Regionally you include industrial i.e manufacturing.

    Rural is farming

    and Mining is often in remote parts of Australia but can be regional as well.

    As others have stated, Australia is a first world country. We're big on trade and tourism.

    out further west, it is more farming, mining and more outback things.

    its like the US in terms of jobs, but a very different lifestyle.

  7. Mainly in ordinary jobs in the city - finance, IT, retail, education, health, consulting, construction etc. Nearly all Australians live and work in a city of 1 million people or more.

    Like most western countres manufacturing has declined dramatically.

  9. Australia is a lot like many western countries, it has a diverse range of industries that people work in.

    Australias main exports are in mining (iron ore, zinc, diamonds, copper and others) and agriculture (wheat, rice, wool, beef etc).  Australia also manufactures and exports cars, clothing and other goods.  There is a vibrant tourist industry across the entire country for both domestic and international visitors.  Major cities likes Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne also have headquarters for major western corporations accessing the Asia-Pacific region (and needing a base that speaks fluent English)

  13. Mining and farming would be the two biggest income producers I guess, but the majority of Australians live in the city and suburbs and have the same sort of jobs as people in any city in the world.
