How do people make floats for turtles ?

im getting 2 mississippi map turtle but i want to make it a float because i dont agree with the price of them even if i am willing to pay loads for my cute turtles and i want it to be easy to make and NO links thanks

Floats are hard to stabilize. If you don't want a "stick-on" shelf, why not go with a ramp? A ramp-shelf arrangement can be made with hardware cloth. Easy to make and not expensive.

first off good choice on getting 2 mississippi map turtles.  they are wonderful pets.

you can always stack rocks on top of each other to give them a dry area.
