How do people make up slang words?

I would just say it comes out of their mouth and use it in a bad way.. and soon enough everyone starts saying your new *slang* word... that is just a guess. because how are we sopose to know?

You can combine words or abreviate words. you can add funny prefixes or suffixes to everyday terms or whatev

too lazy to use the correct word, so they make up a word in place of the real word.

basically they say something no one's heard before then someone else says it and it catches on. :)

Slang words (or phrases) can be words that take on new meanings (i.e. villain, which originally meant a layman but later was associated with bad people, grinding, getting low) over time. If you're talking about actually making up words I think most people make compound words out of existing words for new meaning. A good example is "hyphy" which merged hyper and fly, etc. Other words are just shortened or condensed for expediency during conversation. My guess is native speakers of a language are the ones making most of them up since they have an innate sense of what sounds best.

just make up a word, explain the mening to your friends and they will start getting used to saying it lol, then it just gets passed around

First they gather a bunch of letters, and friends, and take a completely fine word and make it bad and spread it around the world (they make it up right before they go on long distance vacation)

example: "hey thats weird"

thats turns into:

"YO DATZ WACK!"
