How do people stay together in a relationship so long?

My longest has been...five months.

And he cheated on me - So I feel like a lengthy relationship gets you too used to someone and causes you to search elsewhere.

I really love my boyfriend but I always keep thinking that he'll cheat on me eventually. So my question is:

"How do people stay together so long without getting bored?"

Its easy actually. You just need to find something to do and also try not to think negative things like c**p im so bored with this person i dont know what to do. Come on there is so much things to do that you can never get bored with a partner.

It depends on many factors.  I think age, unfortunately, can have a lot to do with the length of a relationship.  The older you get, the more experience and wisdom you gain through various things you go through.  When you're young, you can go through relationships like you're going through candy.  You're young and inexperienced, and that's just what people do when they are young.  When you mature and get to a point of maturity you can truly be in a "long term" relationship.  The key things to a lasting relationship are: communication, trust, love, and compromise.  If you are angry, talk about it.  If you are jealous, let them know, talk about it, have them tell you that they love you and you tell them you trust them.  Compromise is a big one too.  A relationship is a partnership.  You have to give and take.  Sometimes you do things you don't want to do because it's what your partner wants.  That's what it takes to last with someone.  And for them to give you the same in return.

Usually love, patience, commitment, compatibility, and being willing to work through the good and bad. I have been with my husband for over 7 years and while we do get bored sometimes, we do still love each other. It's just a lot of sacrifice and having one h**l of a sense of humor.

I don't think I'll ever "get used to him." We keeping growing, and learning and laughing.The reason I agreed to marry him is that I knew he was not a "cheater". His dad wasn't, and none of his 4 brothers are either. Cheaters cheat. Find a man who is not a cheater.
