  1. There are a couple ways. you can go to a piercing shop and they can literally stamp out some of the skin and you can start out with like a 10 or 8 gage.  Or you can do it yourself and go slowly down the line. regular earings are an 18 gage but if you have had them a long time then you can almost easily get a 14 gage in there. They sell these taper stick things at stores like hot topic, its small on one end and it gets larger as it goes down and you can slide it through until it hurts.  You dont want to go too fast though or u can tear your ear. let each size heal before you move on.  My husband has 0 gage in his ears i wont let him go to double 0 its too big!! But it took him about a year to get all the way down.

  2. when they constantly wear earrings that are too heavy.

  3. Most people's ear lobes are pierced with a 20 or 18-gauge needle. Common gauge sizes are named in even numbers down to 00, with the size increasing as the numbers decrease. There are larger gauges that are expressed as fractions.

Many piercers refuse to punch large holes because totally removing a plug of skin makes it impossible to size back down later. Skin is resilient, so leaving it there and forcing it to stretch makes it easier to return to a smaller hole if you decide to gauge down.

It takes several months, sometimes longer to get a ear stretched to a large size. Sometimes people go down a gauge each month, others it takes longer or shorter.

Plugs are the best form of jewelry to use when stretching out your earlobe. Stainless steel plugs are relatively inexpensive and its heavier weight helps the stretching process.Special devices called tapering rings or insertion tapers can be used. They are round shafts that gradually taper from a smaller to larger gauge along their lengths.

  4. You can go to a piercer and they will use a special piece of equipment that cuts a hole in your ear. It hurts and your ears will smell like parmesan cheese if they ever get dirty for a couple of years.  It takes a while for them to heal up, maybe a couple of weeks.  I had mine already pierced small when I got mine stretched so I'm not sure about the first part of your question.

  5. they poke a hole through there ears and put these things called gauges to stretch out the earlobe

  6. Just remember: once it's streched it won't be the same without surgery - good luck!

  7. with a giant earring! might be painful at first.

  8. they just get a normal piercing first then keep getting bigger and bigger rings(or gages) so it stretches and yea i think u have to let it heal after each stretch

They normally begin with a regular sized earing, and then take tapers (link above) that slowly stretch the ear out. The sizes gradually get larger and larger. The skin normally doesn't tear because you are just stretching the skin out and if you let your ear heal everytime you stretch them bigger, you won't ever tear them. 10. Ok I'm a professional at this stuff. They are called Gages and you start woth one that is pretty small and yo go up a size every few week. If you change the size in the right amount of time, you won't have any problems with tears or anything.

    :D

  11. they gradually put thicker rings in their ears called gages.  Sometimes the ear lobe does tear.

  12. its called a gage.

You start off small, and work your way up.

I think you may start with a size 14-16 needle,

They start you off in your ear for a gage the same size as when you get your belly button done,

    its a slow prossess.

  13. My friend just recently did this. Go to a place that pierces ears and they really can stretch them out for you with gages. It depends what size you want and usually you can start off with ears that are already pierced. It wont make it bleed or anything its like a little pull. Your ear has no bones in them and when it is being stretched out its just the extra skin being pulled/tugged. So making it bigger and bigger is just stretching them out size by size until you get the size you want.

  14. wearing heavy earrings constantly ..

  15. like when you see those tribal people with the huge holes, they put like circular earrings in it and twist it over and over until it gets biger and bigger. thats gotta hurt, smh

  16. First you get your ear pierced with a normal piercing earring and have that one in there for six weeks.  After that, you buy bigger gauge earrings and put them in.  You will need to get the next size gauge...don't skip sizes because it will be extrememly painful.  Every month or so, you can go up a gauge size and it will stretch your holes out.

On a side note, the older you get the more dumb it will look.  Are you sure that you are ready to commit to that?  Once they stretch, it will never grow back.

  17. You start with a small object like an earing, then a toothpick. Then you graduate to larger and larger objects till you get the size you want. Kinda like wearing braces - they tighten your teeth over time to shift them to where they need to be.

  18. well to streatch your earholes you would have to wear really big earings

  19. you start with your ears already pierced at 20, then go up one size at a time (20 to 18 to 16, to 14, etc.) to stop them from tearing, and yes, it has to heal after each one.

  20. You'll need to go to a professional piercing shop and they will be able to provide you with different gauge jewelry to slowly increase the hole size. You start with a very small plug and gradually make it larger and larger (it takes years to get them big). Many time you will use a cone shaped plug so that it eases the enlargement. If a professional piercer is assisting you in doing it you should never have tearing. Once you get above about a 4 though it will be permanent and you can risk tearing. Either way you would have to have surgery to get it back to normal if you go larger than a 4, or a 2 or 0 it just depends on your ears. I would be wary at a 4 though.

  21. it doesn't tear, they gradually stretch the skin with earrings that have bigger and bigger gauged bars.

They put the narrow part into their ear, and every few days push it farther and farther along until it stretches out.
