  1. They don't survive they freeze to death.

  2. wear lots of layers

    building are very well insulated

    eat hot food

drink vodka (in that cold a couple of shots won't even sway you, but will keep you warm)

not to mention we're used to cold winters, so its normal and kinda fun.

  3. They have their own ways to survive eventhough in the most harshest weather like in the Arctic Circle. The creation of technology has made their lives more comfortable unlike in the 18th century where most people die of cold there. This isn't only in Siberia, Russia, but also in Greenland (Denmark), Northern part of Canada, Alaska (USA), North of the Scandinavian countries (Norway, Sweden, Finland) etc.

They still use some of their old customs, but with all the technologies nowadays, they can survive in the harsh winter. Like the other answerers had mentioned, now they have the internet to entertain them besides having electricity in their homes. Besides TV.

  4. They bundle up, drink lots of vodka, and light fires under their truck engines to warm them up enough to start.  Watch "Extremes: Cold"  They cut holes in the ice and take a dip in the water.  The Siberians get along just fine.

  5. The buildings have a strong concrete. they have big radiators in every apartment or office. The water pipes are built over the ground in order not to be frozen!  People make  stuff windows  with cotton or paper or sponge and stick'em with a paper strip over the frame!

People wear at least 3 layers. They put underpants, light pants and only then just trousers or jeans! They put a jacket of fur-coat on a sweater thre's a shirt or t-shirt under the sweater. They have to wear warm hats. of course they use scarfs and mittens, wool socks and warm shoes or boots. Frost causes a lot of problems, obviously/ E.g. They need to warm the car for a pretty long time. If you have some more questions about Siberian winters - just ask!

  6. The same way Canadians do. It's normal for people in Winnipeg to experience -40C weather for days. Russians are no different. They also have electric plants and gas ovens. They stay inside and wait until the spring. This is much easier to do than it used to be. Nowadays, they have TV and Internet to amuse them. 100 years ago, they just had radio and newspapers.
