I just don't understand how people still see good things in life when there are thousands of people dying every day for no good reason. h**l, the Georgia/Russia situation is a great example of that right now. There are people starving, being hurt, tortured, wars going on, innocent people going to jail (thanks to our lovely judicial system), discrimination, the fact that all our presidents have been biased for things like religion and biased against things like homosexuality (not to mention the fact that the word 'god' is on our money) -- and yet we claim to be a "melting pot" of all kinds of different people. I'm sorry, but you have to be a pretty cold-hearted person to still see good things through all of that. I've stopped a long time ago.

  1. I don't. My view is that the world is very messed-up, that hate and intolerance run rampant in society, as does the unwillingness to apply reason and logic. However, that doesn't have a significant effect on my actions (words yes, but actions no.)

However, I suppose the true answer to this question is that if everybody is sad instead of happy, we would all lack the energy required to do something about the situation. The free thinkers in every age have always kept their chins up, and that's why we no longer burn heretics at the stake, or something like that.

If we all thought the world was so horrible as to not be worth living in, then we would have killed ourselves...

  2. The world is what you make of it.  It's not the world that's S****y, it's just some of the people who are here at this moment in time.  There have been bad times before and things have gotten better, there are a lot of positive things in life and you should stop focusing on the negativity all the time.

  3. I've always been thinking the same thing, yet I don't know the answer.

  4. its like the saying if you didnt laugh you'd cry. it's a coping mechanism, if we all gave up because of the nasty things we would be killing ourselves like lemmings. not all of life or all people are nasty if you notice the bad things you also have to notice the good things else what do you have left? from what you're saying hon it sounds like you could be depressed.

  5. Melting pot idea was kick out in the 70's when politics decided that we shouldnt make other conform to our culture.

Eh, you worry to much about other peoples problems.  Be more of a local, do what you can to help around where you do your thing.  The world will take care of itself.  If you get sick and tired of the way things are run welcome to the rest of the masses.

But this is what we do Best.  We like doing it deep down inside and it keeps us going.  Anger and furstration keeps us going and fighting for what we think is right!  Thats what war is!  We Are RIGHT!

Every great story in Human history has some sort of Conflict or enemy.  Religion is just a means to have an enemy.

You got hurt or damaged somewhere down the line, and take a bit to rest and heal.  But when your ready again we all know your gonna stand up and Fight.  Whether you pick up a weapon or use a stroke of the pen someone is gonna fall.  But since you dont have the means just yet to extend your reach to whats happening over there, turn your attention to whats next to you.
