How do pilots protect their eyes from the sun?

It's very bright up there above all the clouds. What kind of protection do they have to keep from going blind? :P

  1. sunglasses...good ones.  And a flip down green visor...just like a school bus or greyhound


  2. Ray bans are standard issue around here. I can't seem to break the d**n things

  3. A decent pair of sunglasses usually works very well. I also have Rosen visors in my plane which are like giant sunglasses that flip down in front of me and can be swiveled around as necessary around the windshield.

  4. There's a reason why they they are called "Aviator" sunglasses!

  5. A PAIR OF SHADES WITH HIGH U.V. RATING FOR THEIR EYES. THEN THE AIRCRAFT HAS SUN VISORS.

  6. Good pair of sunglasses. Except for the military, that is, fighters have visors built into the flight helment, and the pilots on Air Force One wear an eye pach, in case of a nuclear flash...but thats not really the sun...
