The seeds don't really need light until after they've germinated.

Warmth and moisture are important to get the seed to germinate, which means keeping an eye on the soil.

With any seeds chitting is a good idea (basically soak for two days under tissue) and that usually speeds up things - the seeds can take up to 21 days to germinate, and avoid telling anybody, even you're best friend or girlfriend. They will always end up telling someone like the first poster.

It didn't work with alcohol and it's not gonna work with weed.
