  1. run a shovel straight down between the parent and the pup, cutting through the corm.  Carefully dig/lift the pup out.  PLANTING AND CARE:

Plant in hole amended with lots of organic material, manure if possible.  Plant in full sun.  Fertilize 30 days after planted and again often throughout the year.

They're heavy feeders. Fertilize like a citrus with citrus fertilizer for the micro nutrients.  Fertilize monthly, but lightly each time.

    Water often.

  2. don't try to take them from the main tree until they are about three ft tall... they won't have the ability to make their own roots until then.... slice with a sharp shovel between the pup and the main plant.... mix up some mud and plaster the main's wound then put soil back..... be sure the new place for the pup is moist all the time so that it can produce roots... not soggy!!... just moist.....

  3. Carefully separate them from the mother plant and place in potting soil in a clean flower pot.  Water in well, and it will be on its way in no time.
