How do plants effect the environment, food chain and man?

  1. Plants are why we have food chains. They are the producers, so they are the reason why there is energy within the food chain. They absorb sunlight (get energy) and when they are eaten by herbivores or omnivores their energy gets passed to that organism and so on.

    They are important for man for one reason because they provide food for the herbivores, but more importantly they provide us with oxygen through photosynthesis and get rid of the CO2 that we produce while breathing. (that is for the environment too)
