  1. photosynthesis ,see the link ,basically sunlight photons bump an electron and there is carbon dioxide and water and it makes sugar...............well, see the link.......tom

  2. Do you remember basic photosynthesis?  Where carbon dioxide and water in the presence of chlorophyll produce carbohydrates and give off oxygen?

    CO2 + H20 --> C6H1206 + O2

    To break apartchlorophylll molecule the plant uses a process called respiration which is the reverse of the above...the oxygen "burns" the carbohydrate releasingg CO2 and H20.  The reason is to release the energy stored in the molecule.  The plant then uses that energy to recombine (did my botany teacher just faint??)  the various elements the plant has collected from the air (carbon, oxygen, hydrogen) with the soil elements (Magnesium, iron, nitrogen, etc) to form all the plant needs; chlorophyll, proteins, amino acids, and on to more visible plant parts such as cell walls, leaves, and so on.

  3. Produced just as hemoglobin is produced in animals...very similar compounds...the assembly is directed by DNA of the plant cell, made of Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Nitrogen. It is a 4 armed molecule.
