I have a very important 40over(per side) match tomorrow and was wondering how players manage to keep focused for long periods of time while fielding in the heat.

  1. Have some energy drink, have regular sip of water or any fruit juice.

Apply sun cream. Wear proper gear. Try to conservate energy as much as you can. If possible start the match early.

  2. well you have to practice everyday in the same temperature and eventually your body will get use to it and build up it's stamina.

  3. The answer above is a good one & I only want to add that the most important thing is keeping the fluids up to the players.

  4. Keep hydrated with loads of fluids and don't forget Sunscreen + hat!!!!!!

  5. To be able to complete n win 40 overs match you shd be mentally and physically fit

So try to set some small goals so it will keep u up to the mark mentally

For Physical fitness  keep ur body filled with water everytime

  6. Cricket pl yer all was ready to play any type of cricket game.

  7. keep them motivated

  8. D man has a pretty decent answer and on top of that do the simple things like wearing a hat and some block and use your drinks breaks wisely to hydrate

and another very effective thing is to talk while in the field sledge the batter a little like

"he can't hit you he cant hit you"

"I've seen better strokes in hospital"

    "his fishing guys he's fishing"

just to give you bowler some confidence and keep you enthusiastic

  9. It is tough to play in heat but test play is still worst playing for 5 days.  40 overs either side mean will be 3 hrs per innings which can be managed since for batting not all the players can toil in heat continueously

  10. if you have more than 11 players, rotate your fielders around a lot. This gives players the opportunity to have a rest out of the sun. Give lots and lots of water or powerade to energize/keep them hydrated. Keep giving your team goals, e.g a wicket by 11am. This keeps their minds on the game. Keep talking in the field, and try to involve everybody. Good luck. I hope you win
