  1. Any specifics?  Same as in any other job, suspension, verbal or written warnings, loss of job, etc.

  2. IT DEPENDS ON WHAT THEY GOT CAUGHT DOING IT COULD BE JUST LOSING SOME VACATION PAY UP TO BEING FIRED AND ARRESTED AND EVEN CONVICTED AND SENT TO PRISON

  3. It depends what doing the wrong thing is. Doing the wrong thing could be anything from making a morally wrong decision, to making a bad decision in law enforcement, to committing a crime itself. A police officer will not be punished unless the law has been broken. In an situation of a police officer breaking the law, depending on the severity of the crime, the officer may be punished by being

    A) Suspended with pay

    B) Suspended without pay

    C) Terminated from his/her job

    D) Terminated from his/her job and charged with a crime

  4. James Martin is the clear genius on this one.

    Craig.

  5. Policemena are just like the rest of us.  Depending on the wrong thing, they can get arrested and charged just like criminals, or sued civilly.  They can face some administrative probation which will come back to haunt them when they get caught doing something that was otherwise innocuous - their superiors are allowed to weigh extraneous things like past performance.  So if they did soemthing taht was wrong, but got away with it, it can still be used against them when they get caught doing somethinbg maybe no worse.

  6. The least is an oral reprimand, which is noted in their file. It may be removed after a period of no other discipline, or it may not, depending on the agency. Next up is written reprimand, and that goes in the file. (You know. The "permanent record" your elementary school teacher told you about.) Next is suspension with pay, then suspension without pay, and maybe reduction in rank or grade. Then termination.

Now, a simple error, like a mistake in a report, may be merely a talking to or retaining.

  7. As in??? Need an example
