  1. There is a letter that come in telling you about a recall. I think the letter will tell you how long you have. i would do it as soon as possible for safety reasons. car could catch fire or stall on a freeway etc.


  2. IF you  bought the vehicle from a car dealership you should recieve upcoming recalls in the mail. If you bought it from a individual you would just have to call once every 6 months to the dealership to find out if you have a recall. There shouldnt be a time limit to get a recall done as long as you dont wait 10 years.

  3. most recalls have no time limit, and are not specific to original owner.  simply check with the nearest dealer for the make of car you have.
