How do recruitment agents find vacancies?

I want to set up a recruitment agency. what I need to know are some ideas on how to find vacancies, I have a database of job seekers, just need ideas on how to find the jobs, (don't say cold calling).

  1. Approach companies likely to be in need of staff.  Research your particular area.   Look in the local papers covering the areas you want to serve.  Put an advert in these papers to attract potential employers.  Make use of the Internet, just about the best search tool there is.

  2. Alot of companie have their vaccancies actually posted on their websites - Although many add 'no agencies please'  - dont let that stop you getting in touch with the relevent person if you have a really suitable candidate.

    Also where you have placed people in the past you should keep in contact with the dm there and call them from time to time to see if they have any requirements.

    You need to build relationships with companies that are always hiring.

    And if your good at it, Cold Calling is the best way (sorry).
