  1. It depends on the type of roach... they don't all live in the same place or enter the same way.

German roaches: They can run from your neighbor's house if you live very close and your neighbor used, or tried to use, Raid. Roaches can smell the spray and will evacuate before contacting a lethal dose. They can also be brought in with new furniture, cardboard boxes, or anything else that came from a German roach infested area.

Oriental, American, Turkestan, Field roaches: These bugs live outside and just wander inside. To help keep them out, do the following:

    1. Clean up all leaf litter within one foot of the home.

    2. Trim all bushes and other plants so that no branch is within six inches of the ground. This will prevent roaches from hiding under the plant.

    3. Remove any solid black plastic sheeting within 10 feet of your home.

    4. Remove any carpet laying on the dirt (it happens).

    5. If you have a welcome mat, make sure you use one that you can see the concrete, not a solid one.

    6. Switch all outside lights to the yellow bug lights.

    7. Check all the weatherstripping around your windows and doors. Don't be lazy about this... the roaches won't. Replace all that need to be replaced.

    8. Caulk all exterior openings around pipes and wires.

Even after all of that, if you have stucco you could still have a problem, but probably not as bad. At the bottom edge of the stucco is a metal flashing with holes in it. LEAVE THE HOLES OPEN! Unfortunately, if the builder wasn't 100% perfect, there may be a way for roaches to get under there, then into your wall, then into your home. Wood siding can have the same problem too, but you can usually seal the gaps.

Hiring an exterminator can make the job easier, but the absolute best results will result in doing all of the steps above AND hiring an exterminator.

    It's called Integrated Pest Management.

  2. They get in through cracks in walls, windows from outside. Raid works good at killing them. You can  also use raid baits( i think that's what they are called) and plant them in the corners of your house to get rid of them.

  3. have you got a dog or cat if so feed them outside.to get  the roaches out of your house.treat  them like flys put a load of sh== out in the garden and they will all go out there for a good feed..As from where did thay come from, did you know thay can fly ,.or thay could have walked in from next door.have a peep in next doors garden if you see a load of sh-- you know thay have some to.

  4. Roaches can squeeze themselves flat and get under doors and through tiny cracks. They are hard to kill but if you get an exterminator they will all pack up and move to the neighbours house. Keep everything clean and don't leave crumbs.

  5. as a rule they come in under the doors,or from the grocery store(potatoes). or some one stays over and brings in a few.when i get them and you will get them some times,i use boric acid and powdered sugar (50/50) mixed, put this mixture in jar lids or anything and slip it under the fridge, stove anywhere a pet or a child can,t get to it. it will dehydrate them(bugs) and also they will take it back to the nest and when the others clean them before interring they also get a dose. i get boric acid at the drug store.

  6. Most roaches are brought in in furniture. I also use the small raid-baits. It will take awhile, [after eggs hatch]
