i am a 15 year old girl and i am going to be a foreign exchange student in england in the second semester of this comming year. I was just wondering how schools in england work because i have heard that you only go to 16 in the state schools there. I will be 16 when i leave and be in my 10th grade year in the us. What grade would i be put in when i get to england?

  1. That's true.  You can leave school at the end of year 11 when you're 16, which is the equivalent of 10th grade in the US.  So I'm guessing you'll be put into year 11 seeing as that is for 15 and 16 year olds.
