and what's the best way to minimise the damage whilst revising?

also, do projector screens do less damage, as they don't shine straight towards your eye?

  1. tv damages your eyes dpending on how close you sit to it or how bright it is. the muscles in your eyes get strained and usually stay that way, like when you work out in a gym or something. therefore, you can only see things up close afterwards which is when you need glasses->help you see far away.

projectors wont do you much damage at all. just keep your distance.

  2. Screens damage your eyes by the fact that you are constantly focusing on something a foot or so away, so much that it becomes hard for you to focus on things further away, and you become short-sighted. Also, computers, like pretty much everything else, give out a very small amount of radiation which you don't really want going to your eyes.

Projector screens would be much better as you don't have the short-sighted problem, although you could still have similar problems if you look at it for too long.

  3. They havent been proven to actually damage the eyes, but prolongued staring will worsen an existing eye condition if you have one. It can also cause eye strain or headaches.

Have a 15 minute screen break every hour and if you are looking at the screen and have blurry sight, then look away from the screen for a few seconds and allow your eyes to focus and readjust on something else.

But, to be honest, keeping a good posture while revising is just as important! It is easy to slouch, and that can lead to back issues and repetative strain on the arms. So sit good!

    Thanks :o)
