How do some people afford dw drum sets?

For example, a decent 5 piece kit from them would cost you ove 3 grand, how do they afford it? also i,m talking about people who don't work or anything

Umm....they work hard and save their money, would be my guess.  That's how most of us afford the things we want.

IF they don't work a regular 9-5 job, maybe they have a paper route, or they do a lot of babysitting and lawn mowing for pocket money, or they have generous parents or grandparents? Or they got a lot of really generous cash gifts for their bar mitzvah? Maybe they deal drugs on the side.  

Who knows? Why don't you ask them?

Well generally expensive drum kits are purchased by working drummers that are making money with them. I have over $10,000 in my kit but it's paid for itself 10 times over. Sure that sounds like a lot but do you have any idea what a Les Paul and Mesa Boogie amp go for? All musicians have to spend a bundle if they want the best. But like I said, if it is the tool for your job it's worth it. A good club band can make $20,000 per year, per member just playing weekends and twice that playing full time. I'm not sure how old you are, but 3 grand isn't all that much money for an adult. I have almost $3000 in cymbals alone. If you are talking about younger kids, then yeah, probably well to do parents. It is also a matter of priority. I know guys that make $20,000 a year and spend $10,000 a year racing motocross, buying new bikes, new gear, travel expenses, etc. because that is their true passion.

A sad truth about a lot, not all, but a lot of musicians who don't work but somehow still have great expensive equipment is that they are probably selling drugs, have a sugar momma, or still live off their well todo parents. You pick.

they are realy good at playing drums. A decent gig pays $500+.The kit pays for itself.
