Sporophytes are just the diploid (usually) stages of plants (or the stage the produces the spores).  In most plants, the part that you really see is the sporophyte.  So, the tree is the sporophyte stage.  They get their energy by converting radiant energy from the sun to chemical energy through photosynthesis.


  2. In case of bryophytes they obtain nourishment from gametophytic plant body.

    In case of sporophytes they obtain nourishment by photosynthesis.
