Also when i close the laptop and open it again it goes to the main screen the goes back the the black screen and i have to click it with the mouse to make it go back to the main screen? But i just wanna open my laptop and make it goto the main screen automatically?

  1. Change the power settings in the Screen saver options. It is usually done by right clicking on the desktop and clicking the properties button.

  2. Start > control panel > Performance and maintenance (in category view) > power options

then you can set how long it takes to hibernate or turn it off and many other things

  3. Hard to tell you where the settings are, without you telling us what Operating System you are using.

However, if you are using XP, open your control panel, go to your Power control.  There you will see where you can pick a set of power options, or near the bottom, where you can customize the actions that happen.  you can easily set them all to "never" by picking never in favor of the times that are there.  I would not touch the battery side, only the plugged in side.  Don't forget to hit apply when you are done.

If you can't find it in the Control Panel, right click on your desktop, left click on properties, click on the screensaver tab, and click the power settings button at the bottom.

if you are using Vista, click on the battery icon, and customize the power settings there.

If you are using a Toshiba with it's specific power saving utility, you have to edit the properties of the power profile you are using.
